Cultivate catch crops. For high-yield harvests.
Intercrops are an important component of high-yield crop rotations. The background to this is the different tasks of the respective plant species. On the one hand, the tasks are nutrient conservation, nutrient fixation by legumes and the breakdown into plant-available phosphate, for example. On the other hand, soil cover helps to reduce erosion and suppress weeds by depriving them of light, water and nutrients, as well as promoting soil life and, above all, building up nutritive humus.
There can be several reasons for chopping the catch crop. On the one hand, the catch crop should be made to die before seed formation in order to prevent volunteer seeds. On the other hand, it makes sense to shred the plants for the following cultivation steps - this works excellently with hardy and already frozen stands with the TREFFLER cutting roller.
The first closed roller of the cutter bar is movably mounted - thanks to this design, the roller adapts perfectly to the ground surface and runs smoothly. This is supported by the two following cutter rollers by means of a pendulum bearing. The cutter rollers are equipped with 7 cutting bars made of Hardox material, which are distributed in a twisted pattern around the circumference, which also increases the running smoothness. Thanks to the synchronisation of the knife roller with a roller chain, a close cutting distance is achieved.
In order to cover many tasks in the field, mixtures of different plant species are often sown. These require uniform distribution, but also different placement depths for optimum germination conditions. Therefore, our component seed drill places coarse-grained seed via tine seed, fine seed is placed with disc coulters - both with a metering unit and seed hopper. This gives you optimum germination conditions for the catch crop.
